Solon has been a part of my life since my parents took me there as a child in the early 1970’s. Each summer, my father’s supervisor hosted an annual picnic on their vast property off Route 91. We listened to stories, sang songs, had lots of food, and explored the fields and ponds. I asked the current owners for permission and I took my father around parts of the property just a few years ago about – about 50 years since the last large summer gathering.
